All,
This is SO not about SQL, so if you're not interested, stop reading here. @=)
I recently got a short story (my second one) published in a small-press anthology. It's called Pirates of the Blue Kingdoms, published by Popcorn Press, and is a collection of ... you guessed it! Pirate stories. @=)
The proceeding announcement was brought to you by the United States Department of Blatant Self-Promotion.
I can't stop dancing. I'm soooooo excited. @=) And thank you all for putting up with this little bit of ego-spam.

It's said that everyone has a novel (or 2 or 3 or 10) inside them. Congratulations on getting your first "set" published! If it was me, I'd be dancing on the ceiling.

Dancing on the ceiling, the car, the desk at work... @=) My boss actually informed me this morning that my short story success did not mean I could quit my DBA job. He threatened to chain me to my desk. @=)
Thank you all for your congratulations. Now I just have to finish the novel(s) I'm working on and get them published too.
Still, having 2 short stories under my belt is better than where I thought I'd be at this point in my life. <happyhappyhappyhappy> @=)

Very cool. Congratulations!

Published? As in a book?
COOL!
It's rather bad when you think now that when someone says they've been published and the first thing I think is "where is the link to the story?"
A lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on mine.

I don't think it's bad. @=) Head over to http://www.popcornPress.com and click the "Brand New" link on the right. The book is available as a softcover or in ebook format.

Congrats indeed! What was the first story, and where can it be found?

The first story was "Just My Luck" in the Transformers: Legends anthology (editor: David Cian) published by iBooks in November 2004. Unfortunately, the company's founder died and the iBooks itself went out of business. The book is currently out of print. Another company did purchase iBooks' collections, but I am currently unaware of any plans to reprint the Transformers books since Hasbro gets such a big chunk of the profits.
You might be able to find the book on Ebay or Amazon if anyone is selling their copy, though.
I'm hoping I can do another Transformers title, comic or short story or even novel, in the future, but if Hasbro doesn't license anymore adult books, that might not happen. Still, I do have my own work, one manuscript in particular which should be done by the end of the year and ready to shop out. Of course, I've been saying that for the past year & 1/2. @=)
