Apart from SQL Standard and SQL Server Magazine, please can anyone suggest recommended magazine reading for someone who is training to be a SQL Server DBA?
I've realised I've spent seven years doing this job and was asked this the other day, but can't come up with more than these two publications !

http://www.pinnaclepublishing.com/ME2/Audiences/default.asp is another one. I think, given the three alternatives now, this is the most expensive one, which might the K.O. criteria here.

Yeah, for that price you can buy several books and if you check on EBay can pick up dozens.

Many thanks Frank, Antares. Must admit I've seen a few copies of the Pinnacle publication some years back, and I thought that SQL Server Magazine was the better buy, so have stuck with it ever since. Quite agree with the comment about the books, but was looking for something which addressed up and coming issues, new features and products - find that the magazines are better and faster to market at this than the books. Will point them in the direction of SQL Server Standard too now it's available in electronic format.....
