How to submit a wish list of new features for SQL Server to Microsoft?

  • If you have any idea/suggestion about SQL Server, which channel to go to submit the request? PASS2007 had a FAQ session, some users suggestions would be added to the wish list. I think there should be a website/email for this as well.

    Anyone knows?

  • Yeah, Microsoft Connect. You can submit requests for features or changes, etc. Then, you can let others know about the change you've submitted and they can go & vote for it. The more votes it gets, the more likely it'll have to be addressed by Microsoft. It actually works. I've seen requests in DBPro that got a lot of votes moved into the app.

  • That should be the right place to go. Thank you Grant.

  • Votes matter on Connect, so I'd actually suggest a few things.

    1. Post on Connect

    2. Make a post in the appropriate forum here and state your care, and link to the Connect page.

    3. If you think it's really needed, write a short article to stimulate debate and send it to me πŸ™‚

  • Will do. Coming soon. πŸ˜‰

  • I posted it here. Not sure whether it is the right forum for this.

Let’s see how SSC members think and whether need a debate.
