Modelling Logic Gates in Database Design

    Does anyone have any tips or articles they can point me to in regards to the topic.

    I need to set up a database design where different inputs (table1 contains a list) (using OR,AND, NOR etc) can set a message (table2 contains a list), this would need to be configurable.....

    There's a fair amount of info in Books Online about "bitwise" operators, the bit data type, using powers of two, etc.  Not sure what you're looking for or what your requirements are but AND, OR, NAND, NOR, XOR are all possible and, I suppose, could be configurable if stored in a table.  With a bit of forethought and planning, I suppose you could make the equivelent of a "gate array".
