I've aborted the installing SP4 on the instance in the middle. It is causing trouble for me from then on. I am able to connect to the present instance and everything seems to be fine.
When I retried the SP4 intallation, it throwed an error as, there are some aborted installation files on the system, remove them or reboot the system.
I am neither able to install SP4 nor even a fresh instance even after several reboots to the system.
I guess I will have to change some registry keys or temp variables. Please assisst me in this regard.

I you have taken a registry key backup you can restore them. Else clear files that have been created by sp4 installation this can be found on the setlog file of the installation. By the way whyy did you abort the installtion in middle don't you know that it will cause problems?.

I have aborted the installation as I wanted to install SP1 and test it before going to SP4.
Are there any specific key that need to set..?
By the way what are these setlog files?

There is a key under the folder MSSQLServer in HKLM SOFTWARE check the service pack details there. By the way the file name is setup.log that will be created while sql installation.
