Replication

    Hi All,

    I want to create read only copy of database so as to make it available for reporting and to scaleout read operations.

    Will Replication be good option for this ? Is yes which is best replication model to choose for this purpose and what kind of over heads it will put on present server ?

    Snapshot or transactional replication from production server to reporting server should suffice. Log shipping would work for you as well. It depends on how often the information is updated and acceptable latency. Performance overhead again depends on variables you have not provided.
