Has anyone any Information/Benchmakrks with regards to support of SQL 2000 Ent edition on 2k3 and the latest Dual Core procs?
We are considering upgrading to Dual Core instead of buying Xeon's with the larger L2 cache, we dont have anything running on the server except SQL.

I do not have any benchmarks, but one simple pro for Dual Core procs is that Microsoft only charge you per socket.

I have one *almost* in service (Proliant DL585/2 AMD Dual Core 1.8 Ghz).
Once I resolve my SID issues (moved between standalone servers) I can give you some generic benchmarks, but they are relative to my environment and probably not so helpful for you.
If you are interested in the industry benchmarks, the AMD website has some Proliant specific benchmark data.
