Hello all,
I have a situation with a w2003 sp1 running msde, where, for some weird reason I can´t perform a remote connection, that is, the server is behind a router with port 1433 redirected to it but results in 10061 error server does not exist.
I have the same setup on another client and it works fine, the difference is that on this server SP1 is not installed.
The question is, does anyone know what SP1 has done to my first server? And, how can I workaround it?
Thanks in advanced

What SQL Server service pack you've got? Because if I remember correctly WIN 2003 SP1 and XP SP2 won't let SQL Server listen on TCP/IP unless it has SP3 or higher. For security reasons.

Hello Martin, thanks for setting me on the right path, indeed, it took SP4 to solve my problem.
By the way if anyone has the same problem I strongly advise you to read the upgrade information carefully.
Thanks again.
