Backup and Restore - Change in create and owner information

    When I backup a database and force restore it on an existing database on a differernt server, some times I become the owner of the new database and the date created will change to the restored date. Other times, it does not. It will remain the same as the original owner and created date. Could someone tell me when is it changed and when it is not?

    Hello,

    I can add to your puzzle:

    the Create Date on Pubs and Northwind are 8/6/2000 on my servers. This is not when SQL Server was even installed, it is when Microsoft probably released the product. My servers were installed later, so theoretically Pubs and Northwind shoul have Create Date that is install date. But they have a common earlier 8/6/2000 Create Date
