I had previously downloaded the trial version of SQL 2000 on my WinXP Home laptop. It expired before the end of the evaluation (need it for a class). When I tried to reinstall it get this message:
C:\WINDOWS\SYSETM32\AUTOEXEC.NET. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application
Any thoughts on how I can get SQL 2000 re-installed on my laptop again, I would greatly appreciate it!

Not sure, if this will help you, but do a search on my site for "Windows XP". That is the textbox in the upper right corner close to the date. Should return 20 hits, most of them being links back to the MS knowledgebase. Might be something useful there.

I didn't think you could run SQL Server on XP Home.
