Corrupted login blocking sharepoint database attachment

  • I am unable to attach an existing sharepoint database to a new virtual server. I belive that the problem lies in a corrupted sql login account. I setup an account (cprc-wss.adminpool) for the iis server administration site (like normal) However, this account shows up in SQL Enterprise manager with a name of "dbo" and the correct login of "cprc-wss.adminpool".

I can't remove the account and try to add it again because it owns objects. I thought of trying to edit the sysusers table directly, but thought I'd better check with someone who know more before I do that. This login does have an ID value of 1 in the sysusers table. Can I do a direct edit of the sysusers table for that database, adding the cprc-wss.adminpool account username in place of dbo?

    Thanks,

    Stephen

  • Can you add a new login?

Or try to change the dbo mapping to sa and then add your new login? Sounds like you've got the issue figured out, but I'm not sure I'd change dbo. That's one I think you want to keep around.
