Hello,
I've made it to the third interview with an employer on the east coast. I am on the west coast. I anticipate that soon I will get a question like, 'when can you start?'. I've not made a move across the country before, and would like some insight as to what a reasonable time frame should be. I don't have to sell a house (renting a condo), and I don't have to give 30 days notice to move out.
I plan to find a place to rent at my destination so that I can spend more time house hunting. My first thought is that three weeks would be a minimum, but I don't know how realistic that is. I figure that during my last two weeks with my current employer, I could get everything packed up, and arrange for a furnished apartment at my destination. At the beginning of the third week, get the van packed and on the road (I don't know if I will be using a moving company or doing this myself). Then drive/fly to the destination and handle the stowage of my stuff sometime before/during employment with the new company.
I have just started thinking about this, and would appreciate any feedback you might have.

If I were you and I could finish up in two weeks I'd take a short holiday and drive it, taking in some fantastic sights on the way. But that's me.

Kinda depends where on the East Coast. If it's the Carolinas, no problem. New York, you might some extra time to get situated. South Florida: good luck!
