Sorry for, probably, so simple question but I completely confused with Log shipping (I just started to play around with this stuff). What is the final aim of Log shipping- to restore transaction logs let say, every 5 minutes (I mean on secondary server) or restore database there to siynchronize with primary one? For example, secondary server gets log files every 5 minutes. Do I need to do something extra to restore secondary database ot it must happened automatically? Thanks

Log shipping is like a replication and like mirroring. It restores the secondary database to be in sync with the primary one, by appling the transaction logs from the primary DB to the 2nd Database.
Use the log shipping wizard. it will guide you how to create the process. (it applies only on enterprize edition)
hope this helps.

It makes sense. But when I tryed it (log shipping) I got log files on secondary server but I didn't see that changes I 've made in primary server (DB) were replicated in secondary one. My question is- does it happen automatically, immediately (every 5 minutes in my case) or secondary DB will be restored using these log files to primary status, let say after complete DB backup? Thanks
