I have a Windows 2000 server with SQL 2000 installed on it....This morning the server was re-named and I ran the sp_dropserver, sp_addserver commands to change the name for SQL.
Now when I try to register the server in EM, I get a timeout expired when trying to connect using Windows authentication, but I'm ok when I use the sa password. I've checked when connected as SA under the Security Logins, that my Windows account still exists as a SYSadmin.
Any ideas on what the problem could be? I also get this error when trying to do this right on the server as well as from my desktop.
Any ideas?

I did, and I actually found the problem. It was unrelated (I think) to the server re-name....The server isn't the fastest thing around....I ended up having to change the following setting within EM Tools\Options\Advanced\Login Timeout Changed this setting from 4 seconds to a higher number...
I can now connect with Windows Authentication.
