  • I encountered the same problem too. Have you find a resolution for this problem yet?

  • SP4 install screen dissappears no error. The log shows the above problem with ShowDlgCollation.

Fixed by changing the default locale to english.

    Explanation.

Win2K sp4. SQL2000 client tools although full server had been on this machine in the past.

I'd been having problems trying to get the stored procedure debugger to work, however it had been previously working. Server configuration / patch problems were checked and ruled out. Debug works ok from another PC. Checked the dates and discovered old was old binaries (dated 2002) because debug worked ok from another machine.

SQL2000 completely uninstalled and re-installed. Checked Connections to servers ok.

I rememberd the PC had previously been used to test Chinese and Arabic characters. Several language packs had been installed. The default locale had been left at Chinese.

Start, Control Panel, Regional Options, Set Default, Change Chinese to English(Australia), Apply, Reboot.

SP4 then installed without a prob.

But my debugger is still not working 🙁
