Standard Edition and /3GB switch

  We have SQL Server 2000 Standard Edition installed on a quad XEON processor server with 4GB memory. What will be the effect of adding the "/3GB" switch to the boot.ini file on SQL Server?

  Any advice will be most appriciated.

  I would say the effect should be none as Standard Edition can only use up to 2 GB of RAM
