Need help!! (users and roles)

  I could really use someones help for an hour or so maybe through an Instant Messenger program to help me set up my database users and roles.

  Here is what I basically want to have when done, not sure which goes to which though.

   

  When I created my database I had to give a username, I now assume this name as the admin since he creates everything and is assigned ownership. 

  I would like 2 other users/roles:

  one who can update and read the data, but can not change the structures and permissions.

  and one who can just read the data (general user)

   

  If anyone feels kind enough to guide me through this I would GREATLY appreciate it.  I would like to do it right the first time, thats why I am coming to you. 

  Let me know and we can figure out what messanger to use

  Hi,

   

  Very first create a new login and then mapped this new login to the users you want to create.

  Then bound these users with the roles like

  for reader - db_datareader

  for writer - db_datawriter

  and then login through the new login information.

  The user who would administer the database should belong to the db_owner group.

  The folks who read and write should belong to the db_datareader and db_datawrite roles.

  First things first....this database is on a webhosts server, therefor I do not have full permissions myself.

  I get an error when trying to create a new login (I do not have permissions).

  I could create a user, except I can not choose my current login to put the user under.  The list of logins has everything except mine.

   

  Do I need to have another login made, or just to have users under my current login?
