Hi All,
When you create a backup job through the 'Database Maintenance Plan Wizard' there are two options on where to store the .BAK files:
1)use the defualt backup directory
2)use a directory that you specify
Is there a way to change the default backup directory in the first option to use a different path?
I'd appreciate any feedback!
Thanks,
John

Registry setting HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSSQLSERVER\MSSQLServer\BackupDirectory
I've got a great big list of what all these registry settings do somewhere and I plan to write them up as an article. It's just one of those things that are on my list of things to do.

Worked like a charm - I'd definitely be interested in seeing an article published w/ all those reg settings!
Thanks!
John
