Hi there,
I run into this peculiar situation. I created a DTS and scheduled it. When I run the thus created job it runs for a while, I can see the Executing message, and then it ends. Results of what the DTS should do are wrong, so I wish to check Joboutput to see, if I can find where things go wrong. And the job has no jobhistory... The outputfile is empty, not created. I can tell the job has run, the DTS has started, because the first step in the DTS is to truncate a table. Running the Dts by itself works OK, but obviously it has to run via a job on the server, for this is a recurring process.
I cannot find anything relevant in the joblogs.
Is this a common phenomena? I have requested a reboot of the server, but as far as I can tell this is useless: the server is quiet, running A-OK. Any hints on what may be wrong here? Can I check something else? Oh yes, I do not have the authority to read the eventviewer, mere DBA's don't need the prevelege, monitoring is done by others...
TIA,

It sounds like a security/permission issue. Did you have any error messages?

You were right, it was. For some strange reason the SQLServerAgent was running under another than usual account...
Tnx,
