Most of the sql jobs which failed on my server were scheduled from 1- 1.30 am on sunday . The system event log shows as OTM Closed during that time. What does that mean?
Also the application log shows up as "The timeout waiting for the performance data collection function "PerfOS" in the "C:\WINNT\system32\perfos.dll" Library to finish has expired. There may be a problem with this extensible counter or the service it is collecting data from or the system may have been very busy when this call was attempted." Any help will be greatly appreciated.

What does the actual jobs history report? I am interested because perfos.dll is used to measure system performance for your MS OS. I don't know what "OTM Closed" is though.
Do these jobs run normally on demand, have you scheduled your jobs to run concurrently (perhaps also while a backup is in progress), are your sql server services running during this time?

I know that there is a set of backup software technology called OTM (OpenTransactionManager) that can backup files when they are open by taking a "snapshot" of the drive. Is it possible that there are backup jobs running against this server at that time of the day? This could explain the failures.

All the jobs are staggered so that 2 jobs dont run at concurrent time. The job history shows up as -
The job failed. The Job was invoked by Schedule 778 (Schedule 1). The last step to run was step 1 (Step 1).
ConnectionCheckForData (CheckforData()). [SQLSTATE 01000]
Msg 11, Sev 16: General network error. Check your network documentation. [SQLSTATE 08S01]
Any more details is needed.

Actually I was refering to external backup jobs that might be backing up the file system (sorry, I should have made that clearer).
As far as the Perf "errors" in the log, these are not necessarily abnormal, they can occur more when the system is under some kind of load though.
Sorry, not much help. Anything else you can tell us about the errors or other things you notice?

Just a wild guess, did these problems occur the weekend of the time change? Maybe the jobs ran twice.
