Hello,
Can anyone give me some suggestions or point me in right direction ... I'm trying to obtaing a tool, preferably free and fairly simplistic, to graphically display dynamic data (Sql Server 7/2000) in a chart or graph ie: similar to Excel but with "linked" table functionality of Access?
Many thanks. Jeff

Try out microsoft web components; They're free as well.

Why not use Excel, you can retrieve external data into excel ( ie Get external data / Query) and then chart/graph all you want. when needed you can manually or automatically refresh the data from your source database.

Hi DMcClain,
Can Excel do that? I thought I would have to "get external data" and re-map the data source to the chart re: when a new month of data stats gets added, it would fall out of the original chart range? My goal to set it dynamic so that I can print out the graphic info for monthly meetings.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Many thanks. Jeff

Another idea would be to create a table that holds the data for the chart through a dts job. Run it every Sunday night for example.
Hook an excel chart onto it.
All you have to do then is refresh the data from excel once a week and you get the chart for that week.
Ok if you do not need to keep any historical charts.
