Cross-Posting / Multiple Posts

Alright, is anyone else besides me who tries to answer questions getting tired of people who post the same question in 2 or 3 forums? I try and provide an answer in one forum (usually the first one that's listed), then find out others have answered the question in another forum (often with better answers, but hey, I try).
I don't suppose there's any way to prevent posting a question to multiple forums but perhaps the moderator(s) could issue a virtual "slap on the wrist" to the offenders, and if they keep doing it perhaps they should be booted(?)

I understand, but there is no good way if people want to cross post. I try to delete them if I see them.

Would it help to assign more than one moderator to a forum (if possible at all)?
