We have two servers (SQL server 2000 as merge publisher and MSDE 2000 pull subscriber). However if we don't allow anonymous access on the publisher, follow error occurs:
"Subscriber HZ_DOTNET_11 cannot subscribe to this publication, It cannot create a named subscription
because the publication does not allow named pull subscriptions or because it is not a rgistered subscriber at Publisher 'COMSIMSERVER'.
It cannot create an anonymous subscription because the publication does not allow anonymous subscriptions."
Thanks for your info.

You should check that you have the subscriber checked in the publisher as a subscriber.
In the distributor properties, add the subscriber in the subscribers tab. If you can't find it, register the subscriber with Enterprise Manager.
Then I would recreate the publication without the allow anonymous subscribers option.

racosta,
Thanks a lot, your solution just works fine.
Now we would like to use NT-authentication.
say: we have a group 'REPLI-CLIENTS' (NT)
and only want to define this group on te publishing database to be used by subscribers for the replication. Can this be done ?
Thanks a lot.
