Hello
I have a server at home and I know how to install it on my machine. I have an account with one of those hosting services. They gave me domain name and 1 GB of space. I am using their FTP Manager to upload file. I know how to upload file using their FTP Manager and WS_FTP.
I own a copy of SQL 2000.
How do I install SQL 2000 on my hosting service space????

Since most hosting companies are running Linux, I doubt you could run it even if they let you.
It does not matter that you own the SQL Server software. The licensing is totally different for doing the internet with it. Do you have that license? Also, NO hosting company is going to let you install SQL Server on their machines. The only way you can possibly do this is to do a co-location hosting, supply them the machine and the software, and pay their outrageous prices for doing it.
Or, you can find a company that does Windows 2000/2003 hosting and has SQL Server available. Usually the SQL Server side is extra by about 25 a month. Contact me directly if you need the names of some of them. rl_stewart@highstream.net

I know a couple of web developers with the same problem and they say you can use Provider's SQL Server but it is expensive. So what each of them do is they use MS Access for the database behind the web sites. It works fine. When they need to update the data in the database they update at home and just upload the new version to the hosting server.
