Yesterday the server administrator called me because the C: drive of the server was out of space. It seems that in my profile dir an TMP File was created by the queryanalyzer with a size of 4 GB.
Is it possible and 'If yes' how can I change the path of this tmp file ?

That can be handled best by the computer properties, advanced tab, environment variables. You can set either users temp or servers.

Antares,
I've got some questions that I hope you'll be able to answer:
- why was the QA temp file stored under the users domain profile on the db server?
- is Martin using his domain login for MSSQLSERVER service?
- what happens when you logon to QA with SQL security?
- why does QA use this path and what for?
- how would it be possible to truncate the tmp (restart the sql server server)?
This is a new one for me and I can't find anything pertinent to the db server environment variable for QA.
Thanks
Max
