Firewall and multiprotocol

  • I’m implementing a new solution there I replicate between two servers thru a firewall. I use the multiprotocol with tcp. We already use another system like this with no problem.

I have the subscriber configured to listen on port 1973. And this is my problem. I apply this to the register but the server doesn’t use this configuration. Instead it uses for example port 1746. If I change to 1500 in register it use 1153. Very confusing! My configuration is SQL 2000 with SP3a and SP2 for the server that fails.

Any one who have seen this problem? Or could I use a better solution?

    Kind regards.

    /Joel

  • I've seen something like this, but my memory fails me. Let me pass this along to a network buddy and see if he can respond.
