Not sure if this really is of interest to SQL Server professionals but anyway ...
Anyone aware of any good resources about contemporary 6502 usage -- as in companies that are actively developing in it? I think a short break from MS Land would do me some good 🙂
I can't seem to turn anything up -- maybe it's just gone the way of the blue suede shoe, but I'ld like to think that it was living on in an embedded device somewhere ....

Are you talking about the 6502-based chipset thing? If so check out http://www.6502.org/

Is this the return of the VIC 20?

Apparently there is a lot of people looking at embedded technology based on the 6502 platform (Commodore, VIC, Atari, etc). I ran into this a while back when I was looking for a Commodore 64 for my son to play with (I have several chessy games I programmed myself from those days still around on 5 1/2 floppies).

Thanks for the replies and links. I was more of a BBC B man myself, but I'm sure all the machines you have mentioned were just as dear to your hearts 🙂
NB http://www.parallax.com seems to want a password from me.

BBC Model B...ahh those were the days. I've heard that there has been a major university project to extract data from the old Doomsday project that used BBC B's and the original £4000 laser disc players!
I think I have an old copy of Elite somewhere
