SQL Mail wont work

    Hi, I'm trying to get SQL Mail or SQL Agent Mail to work.  I have a domainless network & setup instructions seem to involve a domain.  Is this possible? 

    Also is there anything special I must do regarding MAPI?  I have Outlook on this computer, does that mean I automatically have MAPI?

    Data: Easy to spill, hard to clean up!

    Are you trying to use Exchange or SMTP mail? Outlook includes the MAPI API, which is what SQL Server uses to send mail.

     

    Basically you want to log in with the account that is starting SQL Server and get mail working in a profile. Then log out, back in as your account and instruct SQL Server to use that profile when starting mail.
