We have a four processor (2.4G Xeon) server that had a second netowrk card installed in it last week. Since then, it seems like the performace has been slower and queries are taking longer to complete. Is it possible the second network card could be slowing down the processor or has anyone experienced a similar situation?
Thanks!

It is entirely possible that the installation of the second network card is slowing down the queries, etc. However, it's hard to say with this little bit of information. Are both NICs sent to the optimum speed and duplex settings? Are they teamed? Is the network component they are plugged into configured to handle that?

Not sure about that. I will check and find out. Unfortunately, it is always a battle with the hardware guys and we (the software developers) always have to prove our point. But I will look into that. Thanks for the info - I think it was just "slapped" in there - and it is being used to run backups so I would imagine there is a lot of data going out of that card. I don't know for sure...but I will check it out.
