Problem with Fulltext

  Hi

  We have SQL2000 installed on a quad processor server.

  Some table in different Databases are fulltext indexed.

  Now I have to modify the table structure by adding a new column.

  Why does the fulltext repopulate the index, when this new column is not fulltext column??

  Another strange thing is, when I sort the columns in another way, the fulltext index must be repopulate. Why?

  Does another of you have the same problem?

  I am wondering you have timestamp column on the table and 'start_change_tracking' action is enabled. See sp_fulltext_table in BOL for details.
