Hi,
Does anyone have a link to a page which will guide me through installing EE over a standard instance of SQL? This is a production server, so I can't afford to get it wrong!!
Any advise would be welcome too!!
Many thanks

0. pick a quiet time for update and get Management to buy-in
1. backup all databases
2. backup the server (with Std Ed)
3. ensure adequate headroom on system db's (especially master, msdb, tempdb, msdb). perhaps autogrow [always put a topline on] if you want [make sure enuff free diskspace]
4. stop SQLAgent and set to Manual
5. do the update (got the lic keys?)
6. test the update, incl EE features
7. check EventLog & MSSQL logs, space used/free
8. ensure you haven't left on R-O or dbo-only
9. revert SQLAgent (#4 above) and check jobs run
10. backup all databases again [different dump files to #1!]
11. get Management/Users/expendable-contractor to sign off that job is OK+complete
12. relax - you've earned it
if you have to rollback give yourself enough time [5 mins before start of day is not wise]
