I'm looking to set up Replication between a Publisher and 1 Subscriber over a WAN. I know this is a 'how long is a piece of string' question but roughly what sort of connection speed should I be looking at for the link between the two sites so that I can have almost-instant updates at the subscriber site(and vice versa).

T-1 speeds should be ok.

Depends on the transaction size. I get decent performance over a fractional T1 (256k I think). Part of the reason I do replication over a WAN is that I dont need as much bandwidth to keep users happy, I use replication to mask the slowness. Often cheaper to replicate than to try to provide the amount of bandwidth needed to sustain the required perf level.

Yes Andy. Normally i would use stored procs and replicate the stored proc.( keep the transaction short and sweet)
