Hi All
Currently we remotely administer our SQll(7 and 2K)servers , using Terminal services.
If we we want to go for clustering solutions, How much work we need to do thru console and how much can be manged form terminal sessions.
What is the percentage...
Since it would be not feasible to do all work from Console for us...
Thanks in advance!!

Initial setup must be done thru the console. There are known issues with Terminal services trying to do an Install, Upgrade or Service Pack/Hotfixes with SQL Server and this is not how MS planned it to be done. Other than that I believe all other administration works just fine thru TS.

Thanks for the response.
But do you or anybody else working this way practically?

Apart from the install, I do 100% of my clustered server administration remotely.
I use terminal services alot of the time; but I also use cluadmin.exe and SQL EM remotely all the time.

p.s. To use cluadmin on another machine just copy the image from a cluster node to \\.\ADMIN$\SYSTEM32. No setup is required.

To remotely administer cluster SQL server from terminal server, install NT/2000 cluster administrator tools in it. You can find it from NT/2000 resources kit.
