Hi everybody
I am using snapshot replication to publish my data to internet server from my Intranet server. I want to know actually what happens in the background when the snap shot agent starts.
What happens to the data whne pull subscription pulls the data. Is every time whole data from publication server get copied to the subscriber or only changed data get transfered?
What happes exactly ? Is anybody knows about this..............
Pls give me the suggestions and information
Waithing for quick replies

What happens is this:
START SNAPSHOT GENERATION
1. Scripts are created on every object involved, and written to a directory on the local drive.
2. Data files are created holding the data from the tables involved.
END OF SNAPSHOT GENERATION
Start Subscription
3. This data is copied local to the destination.
4. The scripts are applied, replacing the old structure if it exists.
5. The data is loaded from the transfer area files.
End subscription
With snapshot, ALL data is refreshed. However, its not refreshed from the database, but from the last snapshot built, which will be a set of files on the local machine.

Hi
Thanks for the reply.
Means Snapshot repication always replaces all the data on subscriber DB isn't it?
