Log shipping with transactional replication

  Here's the thing.

  I have transactional replication going on between two servers in the same location. There is a requirement to also get the data to a third server which is remote. Log shipping would be the ideal solution, as replication is not an option to the third server. Can anyone advise me of the wisdom or foolishness of this approach?

  What kind of connection between remote server and what purpose for that server?

  I have a failover location with T1 connection with log shipping every 15 minutes working fine.
