Of course, before it even gets that far, it will fail because of the missing quote at the start of the filename ;^{)}

From BOL:
To enable backup checksums in a BACKUP statement, specify the WITH CHECKSUM option. To disable backup checksums, specify the WITH NO_CHECKSUM option. This is the default behavior, except for a compressed backup.
Enable or Disable Backup Checksums During Backup or Restore (SQL Server)
So, the backup is compressed and the restore runs successfully.

Thanks, Steve for a pretty interesting question. After reading the Docs "Enable or Disable Backup Checksums During Backup or Restore (SQL Server)", I was not sure of the correct answer at all.
This topic is much better explained on the SSC.com blog in "Are CHECKSUMs being performed with a Compressed Backup?"
Another interesting article is on the MSDN blog "Backup Compression and Checksum".

Points awarded back. I never looked at compression, just randomly choosing a non-checksum option. However that would be a good question.
Apoligies.

That's what I came here looking to see mentioned in the discussion thread - even spotted that one in the e-mail before I clicked on the link!

When did you award back Points? I still see "Incorrect answer" in my profile.

Hmmm, my process is supposed to update all these. I've gone ahead and manually updated the database
