Multi-Node Clustering

  • Hi All, I have this scenario on which I need some thoughts from those who know it best. We have 4 Clusters with 8 nodes as defined below

    CLUST1 CLUST2 CLUST3 CLUST4

    Active/Passive Active/Active Active/Active Active/Active

    Win 2k3 Win 2k3 Win2k3 Win2k

What are all the factors that are needed to be met inorder to consolidate these 4 clusters into say ONE cluster or at the max TWO clusters with 6-7 nodes. I know that a Windows Server 2003, Enterprise Edition on a Fibre channel SAN supports max 8 nodes, is this something that can be done.

1.Please list the risks involved in doing it (like dataloss or downtime).

2.Advantages or disadvantages with the existing setup compared to the new desired system

3.Does it require additional licensing or support cost?

    Thanks in Advance!!

  • I don't see any suggestions yet, is there a separate section on this site to discuss Clustering or any other site you people know of that would help me find the answers would be great..:)

    Thanks!!
