  Hi,

  Can anyone help me with the following problem, i am running a excel macro which is connected to SQL 2000 server and occasionally it works ok but also occasionally i get the following error message

  Run-Time Error '-214721871(80040e31)' timeout expired

  fixed it by changing back for sql sp4 to sql sp3
