regarding my sql server disk space drive!!

  • Hello friends!

We are facing some problems regarding my sql server disk drive.

See I have scheduled my DTS. But whenever I run it, I am observing my space

is decreased by 5 to 6 GB!!!! Again when I run my shrink log job then space is stable to its normal size!!!

DTS contains just insert statement, and delete statement nothing more than that. But inserting records may vary between 1 to 2 lacks..

My point is that whenever DTS runs then , will it take so much disk space????

and when it stops then it releases that much space????

Any comments on this is welcome!!!

  • It depends on how many rows you insert/delete and the reovery model of the database. If the recovery model is FULL it will log every insert/delete you issue.
