That was my first reaction but then I saw that was not covered in the answers. The next I thought to many base tables update but had to be sure so I ran the script.

This highlights the issues of confusing views with tables and views referencing other views. In my 30+ years, I've found that such practices lead to more problems than solutions.

We just don't make data changes through a view.
