Question is nice but framed incorrectly. since it's a view, It doesn't store.
The concept is good.

Thanks for the question even though nothing is stored within a view. It is display only in this case.

I got a chart at a SQLSaturday that lists all the DMVs and their purpose. Looking at it regularly has really helped me with questions like this. Thanks,

Interesting question, with some plausable wrong answersThanks, Steve
Yes interesting. But are any of the wrong answers actually plausible? Each of them says in effect that any-one with VWSS permission can get hold of actual keys to databases, which seems pretty implausible.

Plausibility is completely relative.

Good question but I don't really agree that it displays "The encryption state of all databases on the instance". This view does not have a record for a database that does not have a key. I have an instance with no encryption and the view returns no results. I suppose the argument could be that a database not displayed does indicate the encryption state as non existent.

I checked this view on an instance without any encrypted databases as well and got no results back. I suppose that a better answer choice might have been that it "displays the encryption status of all encrypted databases on an instance." I think the answer was still easy enough to deduce from the choices given though.
