Hi,
Anyone know how to upgrade sql 2000 standard edition to Enterprise edition? i am trying to do this because just found the server i'm going to setup log shipping is standard, but only enterprise edition support this function.
I have enterpirse edtion license, want to know how to upgrade without affecting current production DB.
P.S is sql 2000 standard support replication?
thanks,
Jack

Replication is supported in the standard edition. Log shipping can also been done by manual implementation.
The only reason so far I would like to upgrade to enterprise is it can use more memory (>2gb) and 2005 requires some additional testing (syntax, system tables ...)

I believe you just "install" SQL 2000 and get the option to upgrade the existing version. I know if your OS support Enterprise, the products allow upgrades and installation of additional components.

Thanks Steve's comment, this is exact what i needed, i went through the instruction, it is very straightforward, the only concern i have is it needs a reboot.
Alternatively, i am very interested in the manual setup log shipping Jo Pattyn mentioned, where can i find instructions?
Thanks all for the help.
