Hi folks - my first post here, so I hope this one is in the right place!
I have a service which runs from an MSSQL database, and have developed a couple of simple forms in MS Access 2003 which will take user input and execute pre-defined queries on the MSSQL database and report on the results. However, the MSSQL database has to be refreshed periodically with information taken from Active Directory, and a DTS package has been designed to do that. However, in order to run the package, we have to establish a remote desktop connection to the server, and manually execute the package, which requires a user to be logged on all the time, and can cause problems if the package isn't run for some time.
Does anyone know if it possible to use Access to trigger the execution of the DTS package, or schedule the execution of it on the server in some way?
Cheers,
Andi

create a sql server agent job to execute the dts.
or in EM just right click job and click "schedule" which will create the job for u.

That makes me feel sheepish! Didn't realise that the agent would schedule jobs. Cheers for the advice!

Don't feel sheepish -- I'll bet there are many other lurkers (like me) that learn a good deal when others ask our basic questions!
