Hi guys,
Below are my server HW configurations + database sizing, asking about where I can start that admin my SQL server (Best Practices) and improve SQL server performance
HP Proliant ML370 G2
Processor 2.8GHz
RAM 4GB
HDD: 2x72GB+2x146GB+1x300GB Raid1+0
OP.SYS. Win2000 srv SP4
History Database :
Data file (120 GB) , Transaction Log (30 GB)
Lockup Tables database :
Data file (6 GB) , Transaction Log (2 GB)
Weekly database tables data for one week :
Data file (500 MB) , Transaction Log (2 MB)
Daily database table :
Data file (20 GB) , Transaction Log (3 GB)
Test database :
Data file (3 GB) , Transaction Log (900 MB)
any help or suggest i will be greatly appricaited

It's hard to say what you should do here. The hardware is somewhat irrelevant.
Are backups being run? Log backups? Reindexing? What's set up on the server. There isn't a short list of best practices that I could give you.

Performance aside you should seriously consider moving on to a supported version of the OS.

win 2000 server +sp4 not supported by MS any more ?!!

Windows 2000 support ended 4 years ago.
SQL Server 2000 support ended last year.

If you don't have a support contract, you won't get support for SQL 2000 anymore (or W2K). They will still release security patches, and try to help you with support if you call, but they will not build a patch anymore.

are you sure becouse i found date 4/9/2013 what is date for ??
