Are you still having issues with the Berlin and London domains, if you have any more details relating to specifice AD issues post them here and i'll see if one of the guy's in my office can give any advice

Yes I'm still struggling.
Our Sys Admins are telling us there is nothing out of place with user permissions / the the domain, etc and that the problem lies within SQL Server.
But I am still not convinced. The issue only arises when the service account is running under its Windows account and a windows user from the Berlin domain tries to connect to the server (in the London domain) using windows authentication the connection fails. If the same user then attemps to connect using an SQL loggin, access is granted.
the error message is
TITEL: Verbindung mit Server herstellen
