Thanks for QOTD Steve.

Even though I don't see any sign of ever using SSIS, it's always nice to learn something new to start the day. Thanks.

Or even noun phases, at least according to MS. :-D:-D:-D
"The Term Extraction transformation can extract nouns only, noun phrases only, or both nouns and noun phases."

That was me, though I do try to use SSIS at times.

6 months ago I said the same thing. Now I have written no less than 7 ETL projects. Nothing horribly elaborate but at least enough to have an idea of what it can really do.

Nice question. And nice tolearn about an SSIS transform I hadn't come across before.
Glad to see the statement on the referenced page that the tagging will some times be wrong - it shows that the people who produced this softwre are aware that English (indeed any natural language) is fairly complex and statistics-based tagging methods won't always get the right answer (ctually anyone who has ever seen the amazing mess google-translate makes of Irish knows that statistical methods get it wrong rather a lot of the time).
But SSIS strikes me as rather horrible. I wish I could have features like term extraction and so on as TSQL functions that I could call from any SQL rather than being stuck with the unspeakably boring over-complexity of SSIS (which has made me determined never to use it).

You are lucky, Tom, that you could avoid it. I was not.
And thanks to Steve for an interesting question.

I guess that depends on the noun. :w00t:
