  • Good one, Steve :), Thank you for the post.

(forgive me for my poor English understanding capabilities... actually I had hard time in understanding the question itself; without taking BOL help or my existing knowledge on this matter, I picked wrong answers as I was not sure on what I was suppose to pick. I learnt new today, "English" wise.... 😎 )

  • Nice QOTD Steve.

  • Maybe worthwhile to mention that this functionality was introduced in SQL Server 2012.

  • Thanks Steve

Yes! Had a heck of a time figuring it out, UNTIL I realized it must be something new for 2012. Then all became clear.

    Thanks for the question.

  • Straightforward and nice - thanks, Steve!

  • Nice question Steve! I wish we would upgrade to 2012 around here so we could use these new functions.

    Good stuff.

    Ken

  • Any examples of how these would be used?

The upgrades to the OVER clause alone are, IMHO, worth the upgrade.
