Hi folks,
I have a 2000 server, it's been working for a long time, but suddenly I can't remote into it today, checking the error message I got Preloginhandshake error message, I also looked the eventlog, it seems tempdb is full.
What should I do to connect to the server? thrink tempdb? I can't log in the server, although I am physically on the server.
Please help. Thanks lots.

Sounds like a Server (OS) issue, not SQL Server issue.

Thanks for replying. Can you elaborate? there was no any problem before, the only thing I am doubting is the DB is too big and I am just about to kind of archive it. I saw eventlog says tempdb is too big.
but the first thing is currently I can't connect to it.

Hello,
To solve the problem with tempdb you can drop the tempdb datafiles and then start the service. When you drop tempdb, the SQL create automatically. After that, resize the new tempdb as you wish.
In the default database issue, you need to login as SA and fix the login default database.
If you need more help, post the errorlog with the problem so that we can help you.
