Tried to access Sql server configuration manager, error pops up

  • Hi,

After formating my system to Windows XP, installed Microsoft Sql Server 2005. When tried to access Sql server configuration manager, Following error pops up:

Cannot connect to WMI provider. You do not have permission or the server is unreachable. Note that you can only manage SQL Server 2005 servers with SQL Server Configuration Manager.

    Access is denied.

Uninstalled Sql server 2005 and reinstalled again but same error pops up.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

  • Maybe you already found your answer but, I tried a Google for "Cannot connect to WMI provider" and found a possible solution at:
