Sql 2000 TLog Back Really Really Slow

    I have been running this database for several months. The database is SQL2K 1.5 Gig and the T log is around 7 meg.

    I run Tlog backs every 15 minutes. Its taking 10 minutes to run this backup.

    Any ideas?

    BACKUP LOG [Pricing] TO DISK = N'D:\MSSQL\BACKUP\Pricing\Pricing_tlogs' WITH NOINIT , NOUNLOAD , NAME = N'Pricing backup', NOSKIP , STATS = 10, NOFORMAT

    Marshall, what's the size, free space and fragmentation levels on the D:\ drive?

    Current Size 148 Gig 72.7 Gig Free Raid 1

    The Net Admin is defraging for me this weekend.

    Fragments

    Log File 5000 Fragments 7.46G I'm thinking this is my issue..

    Again The NetAdmin is defragin this drive over the weekend.
